HOW TO APPLY FOR ILR
You can check on the Government’s website whether you are eligible for ILR.
You can also check with this independent agency, the Visa Bureau (however their calculation may not include recent developments like the £35,000 settlement threshold for Tier 2 skilled workers).
You will need to fill out the 92 page form, including the payment details, and send it to the address detailed in the form.
While your application is being considered you cannot be removed from the UK.
If your application for ILR is granted, congratulations! You may now remain in the UK!
If your application is denied, the law dictates you must receive a written notification. The law also dictates that this letter must be accompanied with written instructions explaining how to appeal the decision.
Written notification and instructions for appeal can sometimes be wrongly delivered or lost in the mail.
If you are refused ILR, we have compiled our own brief overview on how to appeal the decision. You should still seek legal assistance.
